Harry Nilsson

G
You sit beside the breakfast table,
think about your troubles.
C
Pour yourself a cup of tea,
and think about the bubbles.
F
You can take your teardrops,
and drop em in a teacup.
A#add9
Take em down to the river side.

G
And throw em over the side,
to be swept up by a current.
C
Then taken to the ocean,
to be eaten by some fishes.
F
Who are eaten by some fishes,
and swallowed by a whale.
A#add9
Who grew so old,

G
he decomposed.
(doo-do)

G
He died, and left his body,
to the bottom of the ocean.
C
Now everbody knows,
that when a body decomposes.
F
The basic elements

A#add9
And the sea does what it oughta,

G
and soon is salty water.
(Not to fit for drinkin.)
C
'Cuz it tastes just like a teardrop
(pourin' down and through a filter)
F
And it comes out from a faucet,
and pours into a teapot.
A#add9
Which is just about to bubble.

G
(Now.)
Think about your troubles.
